New Years 2009

For New Year's Eve, we stayed home and brought in the new year with good friends!

We started the evening off with some yummy snacks fit for a princess!

Then we braved the cold weather to watch some fire works which were set off by the dads in the back yard!

After our fireworks show was done, we went back inside to watch some more fireworks!

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

We were all so excited for Christmas because my brother and his family were coming out from Calgary to spend it with us. It had been 10 years since we spent Christmas together! So needless to say, we were counting down the days to their safe arrival!

The kids and I attempted to build a ginger bread house and had a blast doing so!

Christmas Eve - putting the cookies, milk AND egg nog out for Santa. The girls couldn't decide on the same drink for Santa, so Santa got both!!

Daycare Christmas Concert - December 15/09

Our daycare provider decided it would be fun to have a little Christmas concert for the parents. What a great idea and what a show the kids put on for us! They did fantastic!

This is Aidan and Makayla right before the singing started. Aidan actually surprised us because shortly after the singing started, he looked at the crowd and got up off his chair and ran straight to us yelling "Mommy!" I guess he felt a little uncomfortable with all the sudden attention.

The daycare kids sang 3 songs along with actions.

Next, Auntie Shauna took off all the Christmas tree decorations the kids made the last couple of weeks and gave them back to them to take home.

Then Nanna read a Christmas story to the kids. She often comes to the daycare every Wednesday for "Story Time With Nanna". After the story, Auntie Shauna brought out baking the kids had made for us!

It was a wonderful evening!

Paul has been taking Makayla to the ice rink to practice skating every Sunday morning and for her first time being on real skates, we thought she was doing pretty good! We are so proud of her!
